Alison Stewart, author of “First Class” spoke at our March Meeting

The Connecticut Acedemy of Arts and Sciences was pleased to have Alison Stewart speak at our March 2014 meeting.
We were pleased to have as our speaker for Meeting No. 1434 on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, Alison Stewart. Her topic was “Back to the Future-Lessons to be learned from Dunbar, America’s First Black Public High School.”
 
Alison Stewart has been a journalist for more than twenty years.  She anchored national news programs for PBS, NPR and MSNBC.  As a reporter Stewart worked for all the national networks and she got her start producing political coverage for MTV News. She is on the Board of Trustees of her Alma Mater Brown University.
 
First Class is Alison Stewart’s first book. It was named a best book of 2013 by Essence and Mother Jones magazines.
