Meeting No. 1433 — “What Does It Mean to Help? Medicine, Ethics and Humanitarianism”

At Meeting No. 1433 on February 12, 2014, The Connecticut Academy of Arts and Sciences welcomed Joanna Radin, Assistant Professor History of Medicine, Yale University. Radin presented the lecture “What Does It Mean to Help? Medicine, Ethics and Humanitarianism.”  Radin received her PhD in History and Sociology of Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research examines the social and technical conditions of possibility for the systems of biomedicine and biotechnology that we live with today.
